SanDisk RMA support SUCKS!

Worst expriance ever…

I have a defiective Clip, we’ve established this after 3 phone calls…

I got my RMA authorized and was supposed to receive 2 emails.  I never got them, so I call back.  Didn’t get them again, call back and have them send them to my work email… I get ONE of the 2 emails.  Of course it’s usuless without the codes in the other email!

I call again and “uhhhh the servers are down” so they want me to ship it back on my own dime and hope that a new one shows up.

This process has taken weeks and hours of my time.  It’s not even worth it for 40 dollar player.  I’ll never buy a Sandisk product again.

Well after another failed atempt to get my UPS label I opened the Clip up with a tiny screw driver and soldered the red power lead back on, secured the battery with 3M tape and gave it to my wife who took it out for a run.

To all those with this problem… just DIY.  The edge of your player might get a bit chewed up but for 40 bucks it’s worth the try.  There are pics of a taken-apart Clip on anythingbutipod.com.  Just google it.

Thanks for nothing Sansa…

after 4 months of use, my 8gb clip went completely dead. i’ve tried all methods to fix it

with no result. i’ve contacted tech support, have a case #, but i think i am going to

get a “runaround”. i may have to go your route, and try and fix it myself, if i get no

satisfaction.

Natureboy and l3lacksheep, DIY is actually one of the things those of us who are around here for a while recommend. Sure it voids your warranty but for the impatient and those with some technical skills its the fastest solution. l3lacksheep If you would have come here first your terrible probably could have been avoided.

l3lacksheep and Natureboy - Have you seen this Announcement posted today re: RMA replacements?

Your poor customer service from SanDisk seems to be just a case of bad timing or coincidence.

tapeworm, thanks for the update, i am waiting for a response concerning my claim.

still waiting for a response from sandisk

Did you call as suggested in the linked-to Announcement?

i’ve called them twice in the past few weeks. i was told someone would get back to me within 48-72 hrs.

still waiting.

still waitng patiently

But did you call the RMA department at 866-726-3475 option 6 and provide your RMA number as explained in the Announcement post?

yes i did.  i had my claim number, iv’e forwarded them my proof of purchase, and no response yet.

As Miikerman said … call 'em again.

i called them again this weekend, but now they only accept calls monday thru friday.

will try again tomorrow.

now they claim that they didn’t receive my email, which included my proof of purchase.

that’s funny, because i sent a carbon copy of that same email to my secondary email address,

and that came thru fine.

Hello natureboy,

I have checked with the SanDisk support team and your RMA was approved today. You should be recieving return instructions very shortly.

Dude I have been given the run around from the liars at Sansa for over 4 weeks. They even sent me an emial saying they received me deveice and a replacement would be sent out. That was over 2 weeks ago or longer. Theynow have told me the whole company is out of Sansa clips. LOL what a load of B.S. I will never buy another Sansa product ever.

The Clip is incredibly popular, and Sansa ran a big sale on them recently which just purely from the mentions on this board was very successful. That means things get back ordered, it is very possible that until they get another shipment from their producer that they are out.

I checked with SanDisk Support and they received the shipment for back ordered products today and your replacement has confirmed to ship. This should go out tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.
