SanDisk Cruzer micro LaunchU3.exe (version 1.6.3.9) suddenly doesn’t work in Windows 7 64-bit OS
I need to transfer data from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit OS and it worked fine until 08/28/20012
Now the USB locks up the Windows 7 64-bit OS - I have completely rebuilt this U3 drive - it works in XP but not 7 - won’t even display properties - I used to be able to get it to run if I set the compatibility to Windows Vista but had to do that every session - now that doesn’t work either it still locks up the machine (can’t eject the USB drive)
“I need to transfer data from Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit OS”
In the Win XP machine turn off the U3 password function. This will then allow the Cruzer will support your transfer of data to the Win 7 machine.
I have U3 Cruzers that work on XP, Win 7 32-bit and Win 7 64-bit machines. The key for the 64-bit machine was to run it in Vista Compatibility mode rather than XP Compatibility mode which is what I had tried initially.
The only two things that I can think of that happened around 8/28 is a new version of Java and AV updates. Check your AV logs and see if it is blocking U3. Check your firewall logs also.
