My Clip+ boots then immediately says goodbye and quits

It’s a refurb and Sansa does not warranty refurbs. Is it garbage?

If your computer can see it you could try manually reinstalling the firmware.

Use the manual method. Don’t bother with the updater.

I poked at it for hours. Discovered that it would stay on if I held down both the left right buttons with my thumbs, pressed the power button with my index finger and released the left and right buttons after it booted.

To update the firmware I pasted the clppa.bin file into the ‘Internal Memory’ folder. I got the message that firmware was being updated but the Clip still would not accept songs.

I went to Settings - System Settings - Format and formatted the disk.

It’s fixed!!! Thanks Black-Rectangle!
