I cannot seem to tag Ogg files with mp3tag and have the title stay so I see it in clip. Newest firmware 2 GB. The mp3 and wma files I am testing tagged and showed up correctly but when I try to tag the Title on end of bar it shows correctly and says tagged when save in mp3tag, yet when copy back to clip it shows as 09 oldname for example. All the other taggs for this ogg file folder are correct. Tried it 3 times, succeeded with mp3 and wma but not with ONLY the title of the ogg file. Strange ?

Yeah mp3tag doesnt do ogg for some reason. OGG is actually a format that cannot be “Tagged”, you have to edit Vorbis Comments. I use the tagging feature in Media Monkey because it will edit the Vorbis comments in the exact same way you would use it to edit tags (It looks like you are tagging but it converts to what you need), and it works really well and it will manage your music. Mp3tag works awesome for mp3 and wma, but not ogg.

Actually mp3tag DOES tag ogg. After i posted I tried it a few more times and discovered even though the tag LOOKED correct window and it SAID it had tagged, I bagan to realize I MUST REMOVE THE EXISTING TAG FIRST !!
THEN I found it was successful. I knew this from before but havent used it and forgot to remove first.
Try this if you have been unsuccessful with mp3tag. It may help.

I use MP3Tag with ogg vorbis files and they are tagged properly. The only limitation I have noticed with MP3Tag and ogg vorbis files is that it cannot embed cover art as some other tag programs can. MP3Tag can properly embed art with other formats, just not ogg.
I’ve never had an issue with artist, title or the other text fields with ogg vorbis files and MP3Tag.

You shouldn’t have to remove the tag first; just make sure the file you are tagging is highlighted as you are editing your text. Then when you save the file, your new tags will be saved properly.
That’s strange because I can edit the basic tags in mp3tag without problems. For things like disc number and publisher I use winamp though.
