syncing music-connect

Wondering if anyone has had problems w/ syncing or even connecting and recognizing the device of the Connect? I can’t even download Itrain workouts I’ve already paid for, this stinks!! Any advice of successes?

Frustrated more everyday w/ this thing.

No problems at all.  If your PC doesn’t recognize the Connect, you might want to try reinstalling Windows Media Player 11.

You might also want to make sure you have the newest firmware.  One of the first firmware updates address USB error handling; I remember my Connect went from only connecting to rear ports of my computers when using a good SanDisk cable, to connecting to any port on any computer using even cheap $2 generic cables from eBay.  Firmware makes a huge difference on the Connect.

Also, try power cycling it - hold down the power button for 15 seconds, then turn it back on.

Try shutting down the Connect.  Not just sleep/standby, but hold the Power button for 10 seconds.  Then connect to your computer.  That cured my recognition problems on two PCs, one Vista, one XP.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU - the last two posters.  I thought I’d never get the computer to recognize the connect again.  Powering down completely - not just sleeping - did the trick.  Now it’s recognized all over the place and I even have videos, photos and even more songs going.  Windows Media Player, Sansa Media Converter, Yahoo! Music Jukebox all recognizing the player just great - the main and extended memory, too.  Thanks so much for a tip THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE OWNER’S MANUAL !!! :manvery-happy:

I know I sound like a real newbie, but how do I go about updating the firmware? Once I know where to go, I’ll be good, but get me there.

I have Windows Vista.
