is it normal for the connect to give you trouble when putting files on it?mine un-syncs with my computer(xp sp3)when i connect it.it also seems to freeze and restart when im trying to copy files.i ran the recovery tool and it copied the files, but the same result with the restarting.is there anyway to make it stop being so fidgety?i installed wmp11 and another piece of software that made your computer recognize sansa players as a removable device or something.this is a refurbished white box connect.very frusterating to just put files on!i hope this doesn’t happen when i am acually playing music or videos! all help and answers are well appreciated!
When you say “un-syncs”, do you mean that it’s temporarily recognized by your PC but then is no longer recognized, as if you physically disconnected it?
I’m not sure what software you installed for the Connect, but it will never be recognized as a “removable device”, as it only supports the MTP protocol, not MSC. You mentioned installing WMP, did you try using its “sync” function to copy music onto your Connect?
Try using different USB ports on your PC. Using the USB ports on the back of your PC is your best bet.

Could you tell us the name of that other piece of software and why you installed it? You can drag and drop to an MTP device without any special software, if that’s all you want to do. Did you have the freeze-and-restart problems before or after you installed that software?
On some occasions you can get odd recognition by the PC, then loss of recognition. Sometimes the fix for that particular problem is to turn off the Connect fully (hold down the power button for 8 seconds until it says “Shutdown” instead of “Sleep” (or something like that). Then plug into USB and be patient as the Connect gets recognized and the five balls appear one-by-one on the Connect.
