After downloading the new upgrade, it takes me about 5 minutes (instead of instantly) to access my music folder in MSC mode. And the “refreshing your media” takes longer.
I’d also like to know how to delete the preloaded music without formatting the player. Can this be done? (my previous attempt, looking for hidden files on the drive ended with none being found. curiouser and curiouser)

YUP… there are two ways… The first is thru the device itself. Select the file press the bottom part of the wheel, that takes you to the menu, scroll all the way down it will say delete file press the right arrow and it will delete it. Other than that you can delete it thru your Windows explorer. just go to the music folder and then to songs select all then hit delete.
wait, is there another way, like in MTP mode? or w/o removing all my other music?
i’ve tried deleting the music via the player and it’s taking a while - but nonetheless proves ultimately successful, but i’ve been hearing that that may not do the trick?

Go to setting and set USB mode to MTP. Plug in your Sansa Fuze and go to my computer and click on it and go to music. You will see all the preloaded songs that you can delete.
When I check for preloaded music files on Windows Media Player and on Windows Explorer, all the folders show empty. I’ve loaded, listened, and removed a couple of audiobooks, but can’t access the preloaded music to delete it. Help.
