I’ve been trying to connect with my old MP3 player for a while. But it charge but not transfer. I tried to switch the USB to MSC but it won’t give me an option. I tried different types of cords. I want to save the files that is on there. That’s why I’m afraid to do the factory reset. Help

There are a few options you can try.
