I followed the instructions to download and convert youtube videos (mp4) to transfer to my Sansa Fuze but I cannot add media. This will appear ‘‘This file cannot be imported, please install the right codec first. Probably Sansa Media Convert does not support this format, or the file is corrupted.’’. Why is it so? I have Quicktime and WMP but I still can’t add media… Please help me, thanks in advance.
Hi,
Check the following information … http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4431/~/downloading-and-launching-the-sansa-media-converter
Hope this information helps you.
Use Video4fuze instead.
Digital Media Converter Pro can download from youtube and save files to the right format for your Sansa Fuze. Add your file, click ‘Select Device’ and choose the Sansa Fuze format - http://www.deskshare.com/audio-video-converter.aspx
The Sansa Media Converter application is available via the Sansa Firmware Updater. You may hesitate about choosing a video converter. You can also use an online option to download and install this software on your device. This software specially designed for the providing several features to this portable music player. Using this you can easily convert any video formats and play them on Sansa Fuze. Then try to reinstall this software. It solves your problem.

Not that easy actually. There are literally hundreds of posts here on the forum citing problems with the SMC and its inability to convert certain video codecs for proper playing on Sansa devices. While it can be used, in about 90% of the cases, one must first use another video converting software and then run those converted files through SMC.
This is not necessary with Video4fuze which is why I (and many others) recommend it.
