you need to use Sansa Media Converter, or Rhapsody(this is new and Im not sure how reliable) but for SMC Go here and download it. Plug your fuze in open the program and then click add media navigate to your video and then click convert. The program does the rest.
is there a certain kind of format of video i need, lie wmv, mpg, or avi?
Nope or at least not in my experiance. I have heard of people struggling with avi’s but I have not. As long as you stick with one of the major extentions(mpeg, avi, wmp) you should be fine
FYI SMC converts to Mp4 and resizes rhe file so it fits the fuze
so how would u do it if you have a video from limewire?
What file extention?
sry, but what do u mean?
Unless you downloaded something that is not a avi, mpeg, mov, wmv, just open SMC and click add media and find your file and then click convert… If you have a question about what extention you have find the file on your computer using Windows explorer right click and go down to properties and it will be listed there.
well i have a avi video file, so what do i do now?
Do you have SMC downloaded and installed? If not do that, if so then plug the fuze in and open it up. Click add media in the top right corner, then find the file in the window that pops up. it will load into SMC(you will see another popup window with the progress bar) when it loads click Convert. and thats it
it didnt work, the report said 1 unfinished file, and i just checked my mp3 and there was no vid on it.:mansad:

k, ill try it.
thanks again
The SMC (sansa media converter) is ■■■■ for any movie longer than about 5 minute, because it has audio problems when switching audio rates (unsyncs audio).
The ‘best’ solution is to use rhapsody, because it allows you to set the quality of the video and keeps the audio synced. I say ‘best’ because rhapsody takes forever to transfer videos.

I’ve converted a number of 30-minute TV shows using SMC, and never had a problem.
how do you use the rhapsody?
I have no Idea… I have an Issues with Rhapsody and their way of operation. I also do not sync full length videos to my fuze much. I use my sansa connect for that and SMC works absolutly AWSOMELY. The few half an hour shows i have done work five with SMC…
BTW If SMC was as bad as newbies and even people with more experince than me make it out to be Sansa would put way more time in to fixing or eliminating it. Thay are working on elimination but only because we want it not because it is unusable. If you have an issue with it Check out the Sansa Media Converter board that is the forum for such talk as for here, simply offer solutions.
