Sansa Fuze+ Firmware 02.37.01

I just updated with the new firmware and every file on my player has been duplicated…music, videos, pictures etc. how can I fix this? Or do I need to go through and delete ALL the duplicate files one by one?

^^Try  database update.

and/or reboot.

and/or restore factory settings.

That didn’t help

I appreciate all the effort that is going into these upgrades. Personally the only upgrade I care about is Folder Navigation. I bought this for Flac playback and the vast majority of my music has no album or artist info.

Thanks Again

Glenn

Please tell me that Sansa is working on the touchpad issues and that it will be in the next firmware releases or else I’m going to go back to myorginal fuze and sulk.

Unless you are using Rhapsody, there is not reason to Sulk :-).  If you Rockbox the original fuze, it is stellar and has some really neat features that the original firmware did not have.  It also does not have the “8000” song limit that the original Fuze firmware has.

Rockbox does break Rhapsody.  Plain and simple.  If you want the Fuze to work with Rhapsody don’t use Rockbox.  I’m currently using my Fuze for my primary player and I use my Fuze+ in my office for Rhapsody channels.

Best of both worlds now.

I am sure Sansa will correct most of the shortcomings of the Fuze+.  But even if they don’t Rockbox and Sansa bring together the best at what they have to offer.  Sansa’s awesome Fuze hardware with Rockbox’s very powerful firmware.

Until then, My original fuze is for my “owned” music, and my Fuze+ is for my “rented” music.

@aelfwyn.  I just tried copying from windows instead of going through MediaMonkey or WMP.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Hi,

I’ve got the same problem. It woul be great if book was handled as album in music.

Hello,

I’ve the same issue.

In the previous release, I had my books sorted like music albums, and it was perfect. OK, the menu was named “podcast”, but my books was properly sorted. Now, it’s really a mess!

For now, I come back to the “podcast” directory for my books, that works great. I hope developers have the good idea just to copy and paste the feature in the audiobooks directory in the next release.

I really love my Fuze+ but I’ve to admit that it is sometimes a little boring to feel myself like a guinea pig, just for use a MP3 reader. I’ve bought a product in a “classic” shop, I don’t want to be a beta tester, just a normal user.

Thank you for improving!

I actually LIKED Podcasts being there.  Podcasts were coined that because a lot of people (myself included) used an iPod with them.  It’s a generic term.  My Podcasts AREN’T BOOKS but the show up on there.

SUGGESTION: Let US change the name via the firmware OR include both podcasts AND books and you could CHOOSE to disable the Books menu in the settings.

The Podcast tag is merely a genre tag.  There’s nothing Apple specific about the term anymore.  It’s been used for a long time.  Get over your issues with Apple and be happy that you are using something better than a iPod because of it’s many features and codec support.

Ok I am having issues with a perfectly readable and working MicroSD card in the Fuze+.  It will not recognize it even though it’s formatted FAT32 and will not let me format it.

What size is it? A few others have reported trouble such as your having with a 16GB card, whereas other sizes work OK.

It is 8 GB.  Ok I think I found the issue…

I use Ubuntu and I used multiple programs including Gparted to format the drive.  Each time, teh Fuze+ could not read the card or format it.  I hooked it up to a Windows 7 VM and did a format there and it then was able to read the card and format it as well.

Sandisk needs to fix this as a TON of Linux users use this device becauser of the Ogg support.

any newz of upcoming firmware?

I also have the problem of each file showing as a different audiobook. A bit annoying since I put quite a few GB of books on my 4shared folder for on the road. I thought giving them the right genre tag would have been te safe option, now **bleep**ing myself because I can’t put them in podcasts or music now…

ps: haha, this must be an american site, with certain words still being under the ban of the censorship commision… Fortunately though your kids use these words much less than those in the rest of the world LoL

You can’t. There were some bugs in the previous firmware versions, and Sandisk doesn’t want you going back there so they put something in the new firmware that prevents installing the older buggy ones.

Correct.  Once a version 2 firmware is installed, you’re limited to the later builds.  This is a good thing , as the 01 versions (the early ones) don’t work nearly as well as the latest series.

From the 02.37.01 version (current), you can “roll back” to the earlier (02 series) firmware builds, by using the manual update method.  The new series has far better mojo than its predecessors.

I never heard an 01 series Fuze+ before but my 02 series sounds amazing. To me, it sounds as good as the highest end DAPs. And I use high-end canalphones…Shure SE530, Klipsch Image X10/X5, Sleek Audio SA6 and so on.

Thanks for the update

Hint Hint… Looping menu’s

seriously though GJ sansa people appreciate the effort

Seriously, looping menus would be excellent. and is needed.

You said that you use in-ear monitors with double flanged ear tips, then would you suggest the JLab Audio J4 earbuds, the reason why is that I got a pair for cheap rather than priced at their $40 markdown. In all the of midst of that they sound “alright” to me and do a good job of blocking out all other sound and can thump a bit. Also what EQ settings do you use and if you are using the custom setting, could you explain what frequencies that you prefer to sound better at different db. Much appreciated :robotvery-happy: !
