I have an old Sansa e200 v1.0 and I have a few questions if anyone still remembers them.
-
When I plugit into Win7 X64 using MSC mode the unit just fails to connect. I receive and unknown device error that won’t go away without a reboot of the PC. The screen on the e200 says connected/disconected over and over so I’m assuming it’s a compatiblity issues with Win7? Windows 7 native transfer mode pops up when connected via MTP mode.
-
What is the larged microSD card the unit supports? I know the card doesn’t support microSDHC, shouldn’t it read a 2gb card at least? My 2gb card doesn’t show up as free space in settings or in WIndows 7 as MTP or MSC.
-
Anyone ever try the 3rd party app rockbox on it?
I know the unit is OLD OLD OLD in techno years but it still works and I hate to just toss it.
Thanks

Probably some weirdness with the USB drivers on your PC. I use the e200v1 with Windows 7 and have not had any issues in MSC mode. Since MTP mode still works, the USB port on the player can’t be broken.

2GB in the sandisk firmware, 32 GB in rockbox.

Thanks for the reply! I ended up loading an old disk image of windows xp mce onto my laptop and the unit worked fine.
Must be something with Windows 7 not liking my e200 which is weird.
I did like the rockbox nice job! I’m giving the mp3 player to my father and I decided the rockbox my bit a little bit much for him.
