SanDisk SDSSDHP128G - retired blocks

Hello –

I could use some help. I have been having an issue with my computer freezing (Win 8.1 pro, 64 bit, 8 gigs mem) and I believe it may be related to the hard drive. I see the following type of entry in my system event log (source: disk) every few minutes: The IO operation at logical block address 0x1572710 for Disk 0 (PDO name: \Device\00000037) was retried. What does this mean and is this causing my freezing issues? I installed the Sandisk SSD Toolkit and the overall SMART Status is PASS.

I also see repititive entries for Source: storahci as Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort0, was issued.

The firmware is up-to-date.

Thank you for your help.

the toolkit is obsolete. Uninstall it and install the SSD Dashboard.

for intermittent freezing try disabeling HIPM (host initiated power managment) see below for instructions.
