Intermittent freezing on Sandisk 3D SSD 500GB and Windows 7

Windows 7 x64 on a Dell XPS 630i

Intermittent freezing.   

Freezing stops when I remove the Sandisk SSD from my configuration.

I have already made appropriate changes to Windows:

Disable prefetch, paging file, etc etc etc

Sandisk Dashboard does not recognize device, either

Can someone link me to the latest firmware so I can rule that out, please?

AHCI not available in the CMOS.   so this drive can’t run in IDE mode???
