I am attempting to copy my photos (about 25 GB) for archival purposes from my PC (Windows XP v.3) to a Sandisk Cruzer 32 GB USB flash drive.
I have converted from PC to a Macbook Air recently and will wish to view the files (slideshow, etc) on my Mac (OSX 6.8) straight off the USB stick sometime in the future.
Is this possible, i.e. created in Windows and view on a Mac?
I dragged and dropped the picture folder(s) from my PC desktop into the Sandisk window of the flash drive. AFAIK the files have been copied but I am unable to view them on my Mac as they appear as alpha numeric files.
Any help/hints on getting them transferred over and being able to view them normally would be most appreciated.

You do not have the same issue as this poster. You have a thread for your issue. This one is completely different.
Some types of pictures like .jpg will be viewable on both PC and MAC. If you have some pictures that were shot in RAW format for example .tiff you would need to install an application like photoshop to view them.
