So i just got my 4g clip today and was stoaked to get it working. Plug it in and cant get the computer to recognize it, came to the boards and read that i need to change the usb settings on the player, but once i take out the player from the usb cable it says low power and i cant change the settings! I never recieved a CD either so i have no idea what todo and I think im just going to have to take it back
See if it will power up in USB connected mode and let it charge the batt for a while like One hour
I’m having the same problem. I plug in my 4GB Clip and in Devicer Manager under ‘Properties’ for the Clip USB device, Device Manager reports “No drivers are installed for this device”. A short time later it reports “This device cannot start. (Code 10)”. Therafter I keep getting a message saying that Windows is having a problem with the device.
Help!
One little missing detail! To manually connect in MSC mode (bypassing any MTP / Windows Media Player communications driver issues):
The power switch must be set to the LOCK / HOLD position (orange showing), then connect while holding the center button.
I thought something might have changed for manual (forced) MSC mode, but a quick test of the center press only yeilds MTP.
Bob :smileyvery-happy:
I updated the firmware and now it works!
