ok my new clip is doing something WEIRD! i select ‘music’ from the home menu, then after selecting ‘music’, i select ‘songs’. i was looking to play a certain song so i tried to play it and whenever i do, ANY song before song #60 will NOT play. i hope im explaining this right, but all the songs count themselves up to song #60 like its in some sort of shuffle mode? then the clip plays #60. kinda like on a TV when it does auto-search. the clip skips every song up to #60 then plays only that song. after that song is over it plays the song that comes after that in sequence. also the clip SAYS i have 144 songs… at least i think thats what it means if it says like 23/144 when a song is playing… thats right isn’t it? but i know i didn’t put that many on yet. so whats going on with my clip? can someone help me out? if im missing anything, like if u need more info, let me know in ur reply
PLEEEEASE TRY RUNNING CHKDSK. U PROBABLY HAVE CORRUPTED FILES. U MAY JUST WANT 2 FORMAT IT & START OVER!!
I don’t think it’s corrupt files.
Songs 1-60 may have come out of iTunes are are not mp3 files so the Clip is skipping them. Are they from iTunes?
iTunes files are .m4a, not mp3, and the Clip doesn’t play them. You can convert them with mEDIA cODER.
Even if the songs ARE mp3 files, if they were ripped on Mac OSX they may be little files with names like _1Song.mp3 that are only 0kb in size. Look in the folders on the Clip and delete those–they may be in a folder named MACOSX within the album folder. They are for Mac OSX to find the files, not music that can be played.
