i have a sansa fuze which i have put music straight from windows media player after ripping cds onto it. at the beginning music played fine with only one album but with a lot of music all that happens is an error message saying synchronize to continue your music subscription. is there anyone who knows what this means, i have checked all the manuals both online and the one provided.
Have a read of this thread, it has information you need.

Is this music Ripped from CD? or is it Downloaded from a service like Rhapsody or napster? If so, you need to check those subscriptions, if they are inactive then you may need to get that music from somewhere else.

Since you didn’t give any other details, I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that you might have ripped these CD’s in Windows Media Player’s default .wma format. If you don’t go in & change any of the ‘rip’ settings this is what will happen.
Also on by default if you don’t manually change it, is that the ‘Copy Protect Music’ setting in ON. This will insert DRM-encryption into the files and will cause you grief when you then transfer these files to another device such as your Fuze. This could be why you are getting this error message.
So you need to check this out. Go to Tools > Options… and click on the Rip Music tab. Under Rip Settings what format is showing in the drop-down box? Is it Windows Media Audio? And if it is, is the "Copy Protect Music’ box checked just below this?
Now you have a choice to make. If you want to continue using .wma format you can; the Fuze will play it fine, but there are downsides to this format. But if you do, you need to un-check the ‘Copy Protect’ setting for future rips. Of course, this will have no effect on what you have already done. So you must delete these files from your computer and player and then re-rip them and re-transfer them to your Fuze. Just be sure not to select Windows Media Audio Lossless format. The Fuze will not play it!
The other option is to rip your music in .mp3 format. This is more universally popular and doesn’t have any of the DRM problems associated in .wma format. This option will also be in the the drop-down box in WMP. Then you have to make a choice as to the quality and file size and specify the kbps. I prefer high quality at 256kbps, but many rip at a lower bit-rate so they can fit more songs onto their player.
So either way, you’re going to have to delete all copies of these files, both on your computer and player and re-rip your CD’s and then re-transfer the files to your Fuze. If you choose .mp3, there wont ever be any possibility that this can happen, but if you decide to continue with .wma, make sure to turn off that copy protection.

If you notice the OP was from New Year’s Eve a couple of weeks ago. Since that time, she has replied in another (more descriptive) thread that she solved her problem by logging on as the Administrator in Windows. This was dated 01/08/09.
Yes, it would have been nice if she have bothered to put that tid-bit in this post, or at least reply here and said she solved it, so people wouldn’t continue to try and help here when she doesn’t need it now.
But she didn’t.
And how do I know? Because I checked her other posts AFTER I spent 30 minutes typing up a detailed reply attempting to 2nd-guess her problem because she didn’t provide any details in the original post.
Nice, huh?
And people wonder WHY we get cranky once in a while, or give a smart-@ss comment to a post that obviously wasn’t thought through before it was written.

That’s weird, I only replied because the post was one of my unread ones on the front page.

Ditto. And there were no signs of a Bump…Hey Tape what gives? I have seen this 3 or4 times now… Do the admins bump pages with few reads to the front page after a while or is this some kinda weird glitch?
Weird.
We have a new moderator here on the forum. In an effort to clean things up and keep boards on-topic they are moving threads started in the wrong board (by newbies) to the correct board. When this happens, it shows up on the 1st page of the new board and is automaticaly marked ‘unread’.
Unfortunately, in the new board, you can’t tell where this message came from. At least this mod is notating in the original board that the post has been moved and providing a link to it, so the OP can find any replies. The last one we had here didn’t do that. They would just move posts willy-nilly with no notice, no link, no nothing. That was really confusing.
Hopefully, the forum will be a little cleaner & more organized as a result of these efforts. This will benefit everyone. This forum hasn’t been moderated with any regualrity for some time now, and it shows.
So I’d like to welcome microsansa, and say we appreciate your efforts! Hopefully they will join in and ‘conversate’ with us and not merely work ‘behind the curtain’.

Yup…
I swear that 99.9% of all posts outlining problems with their unit have already been discussed elsewhere in the forum.
Some of you here are beyond kind to these repeat posts. Then … when a poster asks for help and never responds back in the original thread or stops in and says…“Thanks”… that’s a kick in the shins in my book.
I’m not trying to be unkind, just speaking the truth. And I talk from experience. When I got my first fuze, I had a couple of fuze specific issues, and quickly solved my problems by searching through the existing posts without having to generate 1 new one. I’m not claiming to be without fault, but I always remember a sign that my late father used to always hang in his office. All it said in bold-face type was:

Morning guys!
I see a big group of the regulars all together at the moment. There’s a bit of housecleaning to do, especially posts with generic titles, wrong forum pages, and all. I’ll be moving a few threads about, and some of them have been dormant for a while.
I don’t want to pull somebody’s thread if they haven’t checked in yet, so you may see some OP dates that are getting old. I’ll try to locate any duplicates in other forum pages.
Appreciate your helpful contributions, I know it takes a lot of time and effort.

Hey Its Good To See a Mod. I dont mind the old OP’s I just didnt realize that it had been bumped, and With out some sort of indicaton that the problem was solved in another thread, I was wondering what had happend. Hazza wrote a thread that was recently added as a sticky that sorta outlines the FAQs that are on here and not on sansa’s faq, and how to make a good and bad post. Maybe If we come across bad posts or duplicates we should just refer to that sticky?
