I’ve just bought an m240 for my daughter for Christmas and thought i’d load on some tunes… i plugged in the USB and the pc saw the new hardward but that’s it. nothing else. The message under the hardware device is “This device cannot start. (Code 10)”. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same thing happens. anyone got any ideas? thanks.
Don’t panic! Solved it myself. Changed the settings to MSC and hey presto. All now jolly and good. thanks anyway.

I had same problem with PC not seeing my Sansa m250. I read your question and saw the reply. I went to the complete users guide (online) and I found the menu for settings on Page 31 under USB change from auto to MSC. My computer found the device and I could copy music to it.
