i got a sansa e250. when i got it i turned it on and it kept saying battery too low system shutdown. i tried connecting it to the computer but it doesnt show up in my computer or in windows media player. i thought it might have been that i don’t have the right version of windows media but i do i have version 11. i kept trying and trying but nothing works. i even tried to add the hardware manually but it still didnt work. can someone please help me!!!
guessing it needs a new battery. Dont blame it on me if you spent money on a battery and it didn’t work. I’m not 100% sure.

There are some things you can try, like different USB ports (no hubs) and maybe a different computer or AC charger, but if these things don’t help put a charge into it, I would return it if you just got it.
You paid for a working unit without problems. That’s the very least you should expect and accept.
If the battery is critically low, try this:
Hold the power / menu button down for 15 seconds to reset the device. Leave it turned off.
Let’s try giving the Sansa a bit if juice, WITHOUT the confusion of data transmission. If the Sansa is having comm troubles, it will “forget” to charge.
Thus, our solution: connect the 30-pin data cable to the e200. Now for the careful part. The USB standard includes a clever design for the data connection- the power pins are designed to mate before the data pins to help prevent communications problems. So, slowly insert the plug about half-way, while observing the Sansa’s display. As soon as it powers up, stop. Keep the data pins (center two) from connecting.
In this way, you can manually charge a critically low Sansa battery, allowing you to troubleshoot the communications issue next, after the machine has charged up.
Let us know if the Sansa powers up when plugged in.

Try connecting it directky into a the wall circuit. The USB adapter can fit into certain phone wall chargers. Try that. That’s what I did when mine was not charging on my computer. It worked! IDK if it will work for you. All the best
