Try resetting the Express by pressing the center “Select” button and the up “+” button at the same time.
i am havin the very same problem with my sansa express… it doesn’t turn on… it shows sandisk but then goes off… its been only a week since i purchased it what am i to do…

Click on the link to go and get a new firmware installed on your Express and it should fix the problem.
