keeps booting

Dead (probably 0% battery). Connected to computer MSC mode (not recognized), tried Hold+center (nothing) soft boot (30 sec-nothing) format (nothing) device manager (can’t locate the device). Have latest firmware (1.1.32) and XP. When connected to commuter it keeps rebooting. Tried connecting many times with different cables. Sometimes I can flip through the menu between reboots and that way I checked that I’m in MSC mode and did the format thing. I have M200 and E200 player with no problem at all, but prefer the clip. I’ve always had problems with the computer recognizing the clip. Took many attempts to get it connected in the past. Really searched and tried everything. Could be that the USB connector got loosed? Suggestions? TIA

Try a Wall charger to get it back to life… then connect to the PC. It may not have enough power to connect to the PC. Also make sure that you plug it into the USBs on the back of the computer.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I’ve managed to connect it in MSC mode by holding the USB cable at certain angle, and can transfer songs. Unfortunately, the battery charges for a few seconds and then it stops charging. It looks to me as if there is a lose pin inside the USB connector. I’ve no wall charge but I’m sure if it’s worth buying, as I’m not sure that this will solve the problem.

What do you think? Is it dead?

BTW many thanks for you assisting constantly many members. Much appreciated.

Loose pin on which end? If its in the cable, then just try another cable, they are pretty easy to find and not too expensive. It the loose pin is in the player then contact SanDisk about a replacement because that shouldnt happen.

bought AC charger. Didn’t help. Does not charge. Power % stays at 0%. Looks like the Clip battery is good for just 1 year.

My Dad’s is over a year old. It still works fine. There were some issues with people having the wire thats connected to the battery come loose. Maybe thats what happened to you.

format it

He can’t format it if the battery is shot!
