I just bought the Sandisk Sansa Fuze+ today. Won't turn on

I just bought this Sandisk Sansa Fuze + today. I have a Mac and the **bleep** player won’t turn on period. It keeps disconnecting from my computer on it’s own and my guess won’t charge.

Any help? I’m pretty **bleep** pissed and I just want to return it tomorrow but can anyone help or is this just a piece of **bleep**?

I have a mini Mac that will not charge anything.  If your mac charges your phone, take the player back to the store.

It should play before you leave the parking lot.  If it does not the store will give you another.  I could be wrong, but I think what you see now is going to become common.  Your unit was fresh at Christmas. Not all of the units on the shelf will be completely bad.  If it plays once you will be most likely be in for a mild treat.

I found two bad units on the same day 3 months ago.  One of which may have been savable.

If you have a car changer, try charging the unit for 15 minutes.

Good luck.

Just a little bit more.  My daughter just came in to my room to charge her Fuse plus.  My computer IMB  Vista would not turn her unit on.  I had my two Fuse+ in wall chargers.  She unplug one of my units and hers started changing.    Not all wall chargers are the same.

I had stated out with one of my Fuse+ in the computer.  The one in the computer seem to be stuck at 44%.   I took that one back to the computer after she unplugged it.  I got an even lower reading.  I am in fear of  the future.  I now have 3 on wall changers.

For a while my daughter unit was blinking off and back on.    For now all three units seem to be charging.

It would be nice to now LG chargers wall chargers are equal to Motorola changers for these units.

if the player is not turning on or charging there may be a fix. there is a know issue where the batter can become overly discharged. the fix is to hold the power button down for 30 seconds (this resets the player) then plug it in and let it charge. the LCD should turn on and it will start charging with in an hour of being plugged in. typically 15 to 20 mins depending on how much power the charging source gives.

After nearly 4 hours of charging my daughters units connected to he LG charger was showing charging.  I connected it to my computer and it showed charged at 100%.

One of my two, the newer, maybe purchased in March, showed a completed charge while connected to a wall charger of unknown brand.   Connected this unit to my computer. It showed charged at 100%.

My second  unit, my oldest unit, the one I had been using nearly constant since Christmas, display was on.  Battery symbol was white.  Display was normal.  Unplugged unit.   Could not get the unit to power-up.  Held down the power button for more than 20 second.  Plugged in each of the wall chargers.  No display.  Plugged unit into computer.  No display.  Half way through this message, while still connected to my computer, the display came on showing connected and charging.  Charge percentage is at 4%  at  this time.

…now Showing 9%.

hummmmmmmmmmm.

I cut the end off a car charger  yesterday thinking it was bad.  I was also ready to return another charger I purchased yesterday, because I thought it too was bad.  Now I am not sure of anything about car chargers, computers, wall chargers, or FUSE+.

123realtalk,

I stated out wanting to help you and my problems unfolded.    This should be my last update on this posting.  I was able to get my last  player fully charged via my car charger.  Using the settings/ Info/battery level function was able to verify while on my car charger, coming home from work, that my last unit was charged 100%.    So in the end I was able to get all 3 up to 100%.    Hopefully you have been able to get  yours stated or returned.   Users should not have to start out as you have.  For now I am still grateful for the 6 units we have.

Good luck
