Help my sans clip won't download music

ok Iw as wrong its in the unzipped folder

I’m not sure what you mean by the “unzipped folder”.

Using Windows Explorer, click (don’t double-click) on the file, and then tell us what it says in the “Address” box near the top of Windows Explorer.

Also, tell us what is in the “D” drive right now.

I’m kind of confused as to what your talking about but if I am right it just says “unzipped” at the top when I click on it once

Do you see the “Address” box that I’m talking about, in Windows Explorer?

oh I know what your talking about now like with the internet

I am in My Computer and I don’t know does that have an address bar casue if it does i don’t see it.

At the top of Windows Explorer, click on “View”, then “Toolbars”, then “Address Bar”.

The Address Bar should then appear at the top of Windows Explorer.  Click on the m300a.bin file, then tell us what it says in the Address Bar.

thank you so much I get it now

this is what it says

C:\unzipped\clip01.01.30a

OK, so we know the file has been copied from the zip file to a folder (C:\unzipped\clip01.01.30a) on your disk.

Now tell us what’s currently in the folder D:\

this is whats in the “D”

clip.01.01.30a.zip

If there’s nothing else in D:\ then that’s probably not your Clip.

Your Clip needs to be connected in something called “MSC Mode” in order for you to be able to copy files to it.

To put your Clip into MSC mode, do the following:

  1. Unplug your Clip from your computer

  2. Turn the Clip on if it isn’t on already

  3. Move the Clip’s power switch to the “hold” position (I think that’s up)

  4. While holding down the center button on the front of the Clip, plug it back into your computer

Your Clip should now appear under “My Computer”, with a drive letter just like C: and D:

Let us know how that goes, and what the new drive letter is for your Clip.

ok its in that mode now and it comes up as “G” in My Computer but now I get e different stament it says

" cannot copy m300a: Data Error (cylcic redundency check ) "

???

Ugh, OK, that’s a tough one.  I’d recommend deleting the .bin file, delete the .zip file, then download the .zip file again and unzip the .bin file again.  Then try copying the .bin file to G:\ again.

grrrrr!!

now I am getting the first message I got about the not specified stuff

  1. Double click the zip file.
  2. Drag the m300a.bin file from the resulting window onto your desktop.
  3. Drag the m300a.bin file from your desktop into a Windows Explorer window showing the root folder of the Clip (it’s easier to do this in MSC mode as the Clip shows up as F:\ or G:\ or H:\ …).

Do you still get the same error message??

yeah I still get the error message…  :frowning:

Try a soft reset by switching the Clip on and holding the switch in the UP position for 15 seconds.  Try this reset with the Clip starting from both OFF and ON.  Does this help?

Have you tried a format using the option from the Clip?

yeah I did that and it didn’t help…

I’ve tried formatting it but as soon as I hook it up to the computer or turn it off its like I never even formatted and I am back where I started
