I was excited to buy an 8GB Sansa Fuze, especially to watch videos!! then I found out (seemingly) what a major hassle it is to convert videos for usage!! Arrgh!! I have several AVI and OGV videos which I wish to convert and view on my Fuze. They are AT LEAST 45 minutes long (if not 1-2 hours). Space on the Fuze is NOT an issue.
I have been trying the following procedure to get these movies on the Fuze to view:
Run AnyVideoConverter (by AnySoft) which is a free video converter program. The output is set to MP4 (which is what I understand the SMC requires.
I view the converted file to insure that it is intact and complete (the full length).
I run the SMC, taking THAT file as input (and will automatically output to the Fuze).
When I view the movie on the Fuze, it works ok, but is WAY SHORT! I only have maybe 1/4 of the full movie.
I should note that EVERYTIME I run the SMC, it FREEZES right after it writes out to the device.
I installed it, and started, but it`s stopping at 40% when converting a video file.
Can it be bevause of my Firewall?
Video4Fuse suggests to choose Input file and Output folder. Maybe I am doing something wrong there? I actually cannt see Sansa throug it. So chose the file and created a folder on my computer, hoping I ll convert first, and then copy the new file into device.
Original SMC was working for couple ot times (I bought it a week ago), but it stopped since yesterday. Once I start converting, choose the file, and then it never actually starts to convert. Always shows 0%. I was waiting for like an hour I guess. On the first successful conversions it took like several seconds to start, and then 10-15 minutes to finish.
What can I do with Video4Fuse, or maybe Rhapsody conveter? (i saw somebody advised). It`s quite annoying all this… Please give me some advice (about video conversion). And also, just in case, how can I return the item to Amazon (bought from them, and never returned before, but maybe that will be the case). Thank you in advance, help me please.
