I am new to the forum. Have been reading for a couple of weeks but decided to sign up.

Got my new fuze for Xmas and have been learning ever since.

I can’t seem to get videos or movies to load on my fuze.

How much space will a full length movie take up and can I add it throught SMC or do I have to use another video convertor first?

I cant tell you how much a full length movie will takeit depends on how long the movie is. SMC works for some and not for others so I would say to try it first and see how it goes.

Can you at least tell me how long the piece of string is?

Well, I can help with my experience a little bit.   I have a digital copy of ‘the Dark Knight’.   I ran it through SMC only, I didnt have to convert it first or nothing, and clocking in at 150mins in length its pretty hefty, the original file I just checked and its 900 MB.   Now I dont know how well SMC shrinks files but I had that and 4 21 min shows as well as a dozen 3min music vids loaded on to internal memory of a 4GB Fuze and was very surprised to see I still had 2.7 GB left of space.

 The only way to know for sure is to transfer a movie by itself, note the size to start with by right clicking on the file as it is on your computer and check it again after the transfer by opening the fuze on your computer and finding the movie and checking its properties by doing the same thing

Mine dvd movies haven’t worked without converting them first and then using SMC.  I bought anydvdconverter.  Check out the SMC board for more options, some have found some free ones, I only knew of one and couldn’t get it to work so I bought ADC.

Yes the Fuze has a high MB on movies.  Not sure why.  I noticed I can get about 4-5 movies (90 minutes approximately converting them to .avi) on 4gb and my coworker who has an ipod can get 9 on less then 4gb.
