Format Factory video conversion

I’m looking for an alternative to the SMC converter. There’s an interesting post about Format Factory at

Does anyone know - does this work for the Fuze?

Please notice that message is posted in the Sansa View forum. The Fuze does not work with (or support) the same video formats as the View does. As such, the _only_ (currently) known way to get a video to work on the Fuze requires using the Sansa Media Converter software. Sometimes you may also need to convert the file (using some other software) to a format that the SMC software can work with first.

Many have tried to come up with other ways to convert videos for the Fuze, but so far no one has found a way that actually works.

I’ve seen many posts where people have used the wrong model names for their Sansa devices.  There was one post where someone “claimed” they purchased some $30 software that worked with the Fuze, but in all honesty I think that person was mistakenly talking about a Sansa View (rather than a Fuze).  Creating videos to play on the View (or even the older e200 models) is actually quite easy. The Fuze is far more restrictive about the video format(s) it will play.

They are trying (in some future firmware upgrade someday) to come up with a way to allow putting videos on the Fuze without having to use the SMC software. Until then we’re stuck with having to use SMC.

Thanks - good to know.

it’s a usefull trick
