well heres what happened i have 200-250 songs on my e250 and i loaded one more album on and boom the think gos haywire. after the thing got done refreshing the database i had 10 songs:neutral_face: so i turned it off then back on and it trys to refresh again??? and hangs half way through so i reboot and i get not enough room for database 6mb blah then fade to white and it restarts itself over and over and over till the battery dies
to fix the database 6mb problem, Open notepad (but leave the whole thing blank) then save as this: sansa.fmt Then what u want to do next is to put the E250 in recovery mode, Hold the record button and plug it in. Then it’ll bring up the 16MB of the reservered partition, then u want to drag and drop the sansa.fmt on to the reserved partition. then close that window out, right click on the drive that has the reserved partition and click eject. then unplug ur MP3 player and it’ll format it back to the original partition. Worked for me.
well i just tried that and it said formatting then like a second later it said finished restarting and it did the and thing as before with the fade to white and restart and im still getting the database error

That’s assuming the OP has a v1 model. He has not stated whether his is a v1 or v2. V2’s do not have a Recovery Mode, so this procedure would not work nor help him.
But that last album is indeed corrupt and I agree he should format the player and re-load. Just not that same album again until he checks it with ChkDsk for errors. If he has a v2, he’ll have to (possibly) force MSC mode with the HOLD switch on, holding the REW button while connecting. Then he should right-click on the player’s icon and select Format…
hmm, did u try replacing the original firmware?
