My Clip player won’t work at all if I disconnect it from its USB connection/my computer. When it’s plugged in it works fine (I can put files on it), as soon as I disconnect it the player goes completely dead. I’ve tried to reset it, etc. with no luck. Is this a battery issue? It’s at 100% power right now, I charged it for 3 hours, etc. I don’t know if it’s defective or if this can be fixed. Thanks in advance for your help.
It sounds like a lead to the battery came detached. This can happen if the Clip suffers a fall (or can just happen).
Are you still within the warranty period? If so, I’d contact SanDisk for a replacement.
If you’re outside the warranty period, you could pry the Clip apart, and resolder the lead (or glue it back using a conductive epoxy).
