Wont work with my car radio

Just bought this for my wife and tried to hook it up to our Pioneer CD player in our Explorer.  When I hook it up through the AUX jack it plays real low and muffled.  When I hook it up through the USB it says NO AUDIO, looked in my Pioneer manual and it seems to have all the requirements needed.  Said something about security, dont know what that is about.

I have a cheap Insignia MP3 player and that works fine through USB and AUX.  I would like to keep the Clip but if I cant figure this out soon, it wil just go back to Best Buy.

Thanks for any help.

P.S. Bought a Fuze first and it did the same thing, hoped it was a defective model and bought the Clip yesterday.

Works fine for me through the headphone and AUX connections.  Do you have the cable all the way in, at the Clip side?  And the Clip volume all the way up?

headphones work ok, i did a search here and found out that you have to set the eq to normal and turn the volume all the way up in the car.  Did that and it works ok, through the AUX jacks.  Little distortion though.  I really want to be able to use it through the USB though.  Thanks for the help.

The Clip is probably in the wrong USB mode. Go into Settings and change the mode to MSC. That should do the trick.

ya, switched it to MSC, formatted it, then when i downloaded songs, it downloaded in that format.   (for USB)

AUX  had to switch eq to normal and turn volume all the way up on the clip.  little distorted coming out of cd player but is ok.

Thanks for all the help

What do you need to play the clip over your car stereo speakers?

That really depends on what you have for a car steri. By this I mean, do you have an Aux in where it looks like you can plug headphones in? Do you have a USB port? Do you have a Cassette Deck?

I have a stock 2008 Pontiac Vibe/ stereo.I’ll have to look to see if it has any ports.Thanks.

The ports are whats important. These just make things easier. I dont think the vibe had a standard Cassette, but maybe? Finod out and let us know.

Looks like I wil need the transmitter. The one at the Sansa store isn’t compatible with the clip.Is there an other kind?

I looked it up on the net,“Sansa clip transmitter”,and the best choice looks like the “griffen itrip”.It plugs into the cig lighter, and also has a USB port on the back of it for charging. Thanks for your time.

All Kinds! Go to amazon and search for FM Transmitter. Just look for one that plugs into the headphone jack. You will want to play around with the transmitter you choose to find a station that you can use with minimal interferance.

Thanks a lot
