Well, called up today. Was told it was out of stock, and if I don’t get any notifications in the next few days that I can call and they will arrange a different replacement. My question now is: Is there other colors of the 8GB and what would be its replacement if not, a View?
Valid questions . . . but I think they would be best directed to whom ever you were speaking to at SanDisk, not here.
The 8GB Fuze (as far as I know) comes in black or silver (some call it grey, some call it chrome). I doubt very much whether they would offer a View as a replacement, but I know for a fact that were I in your shoes I wouldn’t even consider this as a serious option (take a peek in the View board and you’ll see why I say that).
If it’s out of stock I’d wait for it. But that’s me. You’ve got to do what you feel is right for you.
Ok, I did get an email today but it was one of those you get from calling to check the status, nothing saying it was out of stock or anything. How long should I wait before I call back?
Its Tuesday where I am… Id wait until Friday Morning. That gives them time to get stock. If they still claim its out of stock ask them what your other options would be.
I sent mine in on 7/15. Got an email several days later letting me know they had received it and it would be “7 to 10 days”, depending on inventory. before a replacement would be shipped. I was really hoping it would show up in my mailbox this week but I decided to call them today. I just got off the phone with Grace and she said they are out of stock and could not say when they would have stock. (mine is the 8gb Silver). She suggested I check back in 10 days.

I wanted to check to see if the replacement Fuzes are still a go for availability tomorrow, 8/6? I’ve checked my “Kb.sandisk” in box and it doesn’t have that information. If anyone here has the status on this, please let us know.

That information is given out on what they call ‘a need-to-know’ basis. And we don’t need to know, so no, we don’t know.
