What is the difference between V1 and V2 fuze

Hi I’m just curious to know the differences between V1 and V2 Fuze

The v2 Fuze has the processor on the opposite side of the circuit board.  It also sports an integrated SDRAM system, without the separate chip of the v1.  Functionally, the devices operate the same, with identical capabilities.

Either device sounds great.

The differences are all internal. If you only use the factory-installed firmware, they work exactly the same way and have the same features.

The main reason people are usually concerned about v1 or v2 for Sansas is Rockbox compatibility, and microSDHC compatibility. Rockbox only works on the v1 versions of older players (e200, c200) and is still not officially ready for the Fuze.

Also, v1 e200’s and c200’s only support microSD (not HC) and are limited to 2GB cards unless Rockbox is installed (which adds microSDHC compatibility). But the v1 and v2 Fuze support both microSD and microSDHC.

So V2 with integrated ram works fast ? power efficient ?

No… They are functionally Identical, there is no difference… The Caveat to that is if you use firmwares published by Sandisk. Things like Rockbox wont work on the V2 fuze right now.

I’ve noticed some other differences though. I had a v1, and in ms0://Sansa Fuze 8GB/Inetrnal Memory, there was 7.61 GB of free space when I bought it, after I formatted it. With the v2, I have only 7.31 GB of free space after a format. Also, album art freezes halfway through loading for a few seconds. That didn’t happen with the v1. Just figured I’d point that out. Any chance anyone knows why those things happen?

It most likely has more to do with your files than your player.
