I downloaded the update as instructed, written all the steps, and followed them. However, my Sansa Fuze+ still shows the previous version (02.03.33A). I even tried different Zip programs. Still no luck. The player refreshes the media after I unplug it from the computer. Then, it turns itself off as described here. when I turn it on, still the same version exists!
That’s the first thing I did. I followed every step. I even tried 2 different laptops to unzip the file. After I extract it, the file name is still the same.( Firmware.sb) But, it is larger, about 35 MB. I drag into the player’s root directory. It is there. I unplug it. The Fuze display shows me it is refreshing the media. then, it shuts itself off. back it on. the version stays the same!!
I can’t figure it out.
I guess I will have to wait for Sansa’s automatic update.
What is the USB setting for the Fuze+? If you are using auto detect or MTP and trying to update via Windows, it will not work. You must go into Settings/USB Mode and change the unit to MSC mode. When it is connected to the computer, it will enumerate as a removable drive not a player and then place the file in the directory.
2.0.3.33A is the version number for the original Fuze (V2). I think you are trying to flash a Fuze with Fuze+ firmware.
The Fuze+ has a touchpad control panel your Fuze has a scroll wheel. Also the Fuze+ uses a Micro USB connector whereas the original Fuze has a cable that looks more like that for an Ipod.
