V.1? of 32GB Cruzer Glide and Win 7

I can’t get files off of my old(not a V.2) Cruzer Glide to go on to Win 7 machine. It’s contents go on to an XP fine. I have a V.2 that copies on to XP as well. I guess they did away with naming on the V.2 as well.:confounded:

NM- I was right clicking on the folder I was trying to move and choosing restore. Drag and drop worked.

Looks good. Nice to see this worked for you at the end.

I guess I spoke too soon. Loading a large file on a Cruzer is fine-just takes time of course.  Moving Large file off of Cruzer doesn’t work (for me). The “transer” window shuts after a few seconds or after a ceratin amount of time the file does not show in destination when finshined. Should I only be moving small contents of folder and join it together once it’s all on the hard drive?

I right click on the folder  from the SecureAcces window I want moved -choose Restore-choose destination. Or I drag a folder from the SecureAcces window to a folder on my PC. Is there a third or fourth transfer/restore option I’m not (and should be) doing??

     Hi 11188,

Dear member of SanDisk Community, welcome.

Please friend, you it are complicating much.

Take another pendrive, and then download the new version (free) and enjoy.

Remember that, there are two softwares, one for Windows and one for Mac.

And SanDisk SecureAccess Software you must install in the UFD.

Compatibility:
SanDisk SecureAccess software is supported by Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS 10.5 and up. Use with a Mac requires other software download.

The latest version of SanDiskSecureAccessV2, you can download (free) from here:

         http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2399
         http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2413

1-     Download on the UFD, to SanDiskSecureAccessV2_win, (if you have PC).

Beware 1: If you figure thus: SanDiskSecureAccessV2_win .exe , go Tools/Folder Options/tab/View/ and tick: hide file extensions, by the way, you notice, that are also branded the choices: hide files protected, and do not show hidden files and folders.

2-     Then, you install the program, password, etc. And you will have two files:
2.1-  SanDiskSecureAccessV2_ win , (the application).
2.2-   SanDiskSecureAccess Vault (which is the folder that contains the encrypted files).
2.3-   If you lose or delete to SanDiskSecureAccessV2_win (2.1), there is no problem, as other download, and ready.
2.4-   But if you lose or delete a SanDiskSecureAccess Vault (2.2), missed all content.
2.5-   If, you can change the name, the application (2.1).
2.6-   Do not you can change the name, the folder/Vault (2.2), because the name is generated by the application (2.1), and if you change it, the application will not open, and will generate a new Vault.
2.7-  If, you can move on, too, to the application (2.1), a any folder.
2.8-   You can not move the folder/Vault (2.2). You should leave it in the root of the UFD, because that is where the going “find” the application (2.1).

2.9-   There is an option (in the toolbar My Vault), _ which generates a Backup _ (for SandiskSecureAccess Vault), to your PC.

Beware 2: Always make, backup content, copy the Vault, clone the UFD, etc., and save everything in “safe place”.

Enjoy!

Regards, Alfred.                                                             (Google translated)

   Hola 11188 ,

Compatibilidad:

SanDisk SecureAccess softwarees  es soportado por Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS 10.5 and up.

         http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2399
         http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2413

¡Disfruta!

Saludos, Alfred.

Thanks for the help. But this did not fix my problem. It should be a very easy thing. Drag a file from the secure access window to a folder on your PC or your desk top. But no it freezes. The bigger the file the faster the freeze. Downloading version 2 did not give me access to files/folders already on drive I am trying to move to my PC. It was like starting over with an empty drive. This is like a roach motel files get in but they don’t get out. All of the Googled instructions I have found are how to add files/folders to a flash drive but not any on how to take files/folders off drive and transfer them to a PC. First I had issues with my Sandisk Mp3 player and now flash drives. It might be time to shop elsewhere.:robotmad:

Not that I was too old/stupid to get the concept of drag and drop. It just wouldn’t work until last week. Someone said malware or a worm was the problem-IDK. But I’m able to move my info off  Cruzer to whatever PC I need. Happy camper!!:catvery-happy:

  Happy to hear you got it working for you.   At some point you should experiment with the cut and paste concept also.

Thanx Ed

You had it right brother it IS copy and paste-I had drag and drop on the brain-that was part of the original problem. Three Flashes B/Ued so far. That’s what happens when you put the instructions on the “heel”:stuck_out_tongue:
