I have replaced the very short usb cable that connect the sansa to my PC with a same 1 meter cable.

Should there be a problem???

Sometimes the PC doesn’t recognize the sansa. I didnt have that problem with the standard cable.

Is it because the new long cable ???

Yes, probably.

I use two different 1m cables with my Clip without problem, but a third one didn’t work. Probably it is a low quality cable or something like that. I guess that for a correct communication the cable must comply with some electrical conductance requirements and/or lack of electrical noise, which is a little bit harder to achieve as you increase the cable lenght.
