Unable to authorize the device

Not a To Go member yet!

Uh, good thing you mentioned that.  Don’t worry, as the above repair simply reinstalls the RhapPFS engine.

With a basic Rhapsody membership (Rhapsody Unlimited), you cannot authorize a device for transfer directly.  Thus, no available “authorize” option for the device.  You can download individual tracks (purchase), then transfer them to the Sansa from your music library.  The Channels function requires the ToGo service.  Glad you mentioned that.

Once you upgrade to the To Go servce (they kind of misnamed the Unlimited version, didn’t they?), you can authorize the device.

You’ll find that teh Rhapsody Channels is the coolest part of the service.  It’s like cable for your Sansa.  Any tracks that you like can be added to teh device library with a single click.

You might want to backup and check a few things.

  1. Subscription you have with Rhapsody.

  2. Fuze Firmware is updated to 02.01.17a

  3. Fuze’s USB setting is on Auto or MTP.

If the Fuze is being detected and it is configured for Auto or MTP I would think it would be a subscription problem.

don’t have a subscription. Just trying to authorize my Fuze.

Thanks alot bob!!! I am kinda dumb for not figuring out the simplest mistakes in life. Guess i’ll become a to-go member next week and authorize my sansa! OMG so happy! Thanks for all your help and everyones help!

No worries!  I first tried Rhapsody To Go last year, with the new Sansa Clip, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Rhapsody allows three Sansas per account, and with three daughters, you can do the math and figure out how expensive it would get if I have them all downloading music that’s cool today, and “■■■■■” next week.  That’s teenager thinking, hehe.

I run two Rhapsody accounts, as I have Sansas all over the place.

Having unlimited access to the entire library is the hot ticket with daughters.  And Daddy runs Audible for books too.  Good stuff.

Ha ha It would get pretty expensive. That’s why instead of paying for a song 0.99 I just want unlimited access legally for only 15 bucks!
