Still frozen even after reading all msgs

My m240 1GB froze yesterday and followed the following steps with no success.

1- replaced with a brand new battery

2- pushed the hold button to the right

3- Plugged it in the USB behind the laptop connected to the mother board direct

and the m240 still not recognized by the machine and is frozen in the first screen. The fireware version is V4.0.44R and it is the first time to do this since I purchased it 2006.

What else can I do?

If this doesn’t help, call SanDisk and check for warranty.
