Good evening, I have a Mac mini M4 Pro and a SanDisk Professional 4TB SSD. While I connect it and work normally, after some time the whole Finder freezes and I can’t even restart. When I disconnect the cable, the computer shuts down.
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem and, if so, have you found a solution?
Thanks

I also have problems with two Sandisk Extreme Portable 1TB SSD and two Mac Mini M4.
One Mac is running 15.3 the other 15.6, on both systems the SSD is directly connected to one of the USB-C ports on the Mac. Both systems run 24/7.
This also happened on an older MacOS 14 system that is now no longer used.
From time to time the SSD just disappears on the system. Sometimes the mount point in /Volumes also vanishes, some times the mount point stays but trying to access the SSD ends up in a permission denied like ls /Volumes/Sandisk.
Is this a MacOS (unreliable USB) or a Sandisk problem?
