SanDisk 2TB Extreme Portable SSD freezes on Mac while 1TB SSD works fine

My Mac works fine with a 1TB Sandisk SSD. When I move to the 2TB the Mac freezes.

Wondering if there is a compatibility issue and if there is a solution.
