not “Extreme” Portable, just SANDISK Portable SSD, 2 TB SSD! It is regularly ejected from my Macbook m1 Pro on Mac OS Ventura 13.3.1. It immediately comes back, but all operations are lost.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Ulli

If your external hard drive keeps disconnecting on macOS, try these steps:
First, check the USB cable and port, as faulty cables or ports are common issues. Ensure the drive has enough power, possibly using a powered USB hub if needed.
Adjust the disk sleep settings by going to System Preferences > Energy Saver and unchecking “Put hard disks to sleep when possible.”
Use Disk Utility to run First Aid and repair any file system errors. Boot into Safe Mode by holding Shift during startup to rule out software conflicts.
Test the drive on another Mac to see if the problem persists, and ensure macOS and any necessary drivers are up-to-date.
If these steps don’t work, the issue might be due to drive failure, in which case you should back up data and consider contacting the manufacturer for support or a replacement. ( Here is another how-to guide for your reference: External Hard Drive Keeps Disconnecting on macOS )
