I have the updated version of SMC and when I use it, it converts my videos, but I can’t watch them because I get a “File type not supported” message. The original video is MP4. What am I doing wrong? Any advice?

There are tons of advice on the Sansa Media Converter board. Unfortunately, most of it doensn’t work. SMC is crappy software, period.
Some have had good luck running the files through another converter program first, then through SMC. Others use the Rhapsody software (no membership required).
I suggest perusing the SMC board for any additional tips or tricks.

That’s how I’ve been able to get video. One program and then SMC. There are some free dvdconveter programs out there, but I couldn’t work the one suggested and bought anydvdconverter and it works.
And I agree, SMC is crappy software. We shouldn’t need it at all. Until then…
