I was formatting the device, and now it wont power up, just stays with a black screen, and the blue ring on. It is not responding at all, any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it no longer goes to the menu screen and if it’s not recognized by the computer, you can do a force format. While it’s off, activate the hold switch then press and hold the up button or 12oclock wheel. Connect it to your computer and as soon as it turns on, unplug it. It should now ask you if you want to format the device.
I tried what you said, but it did nothing for me. The computer acted like I connected it to the computer, but the view did nothing but stay on black, and the blue ring stayed lit.
I too am looking for a solution to this problem. It sounds like the same thing with my View.
(I had posted here a while ago, with no fix yet)
i guess then it is dead, i have a small 1gb player from sansa, just not has good, not just the size, but the music quality suffers badly. i miss my view.
Oops… guess I forgot to pick up on this thread!
Your problems are solved! I finally put together all the pieces and designed a One-Click UnBrick utility to repair bricked Sansa View players… it’s not too hard to use and you should be able to get it up and running within 10 minutes if you’re new at this, 5 minutes if not

Give it a try! I still haven’t heard any feedback about the tool (I just posted it last night)… it’d be nice to get some feedback from people saying it worked out for 'em
Hope it helps!
Thanks it works, i really appreciate it.
