Sansa Player Cannot be Detected?

I connected my Sansa e280 to my computer and opened up the Sansa Media Converter but it says that the player cannot be detected. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this problem? Thanks.

Is your e280 v1 or v2? If its V1 then make sure its in MTP mode. Sansa Media Converter will not work with e280 V1 if its in MSC mode. Hope this help and good luck.

I have v2 and it doesn’t work what should I do then? ><

Did you install the latest SMC? i think it on version 236 right at sandisk website.

My v1’s work fine in MSC mode.

Try:

-Open SMC. WAIT for about 30seconds after it LOOKS like it’s open, to make sure it’s completely loaded.

-Turn the player on, wait until it’s totally ready to play music

-Plug the player into the computer, and WAIT again…

If that doesn’t work, unplug it, wait 5seconds, and try a different USB port?

besides being kinda buggy, This software seems extremely slow. When I drag a file onto it the first time after opening it, it takes like 60seconds just to show the file. Subsequent files seem to go quick.

good luck!

Make sure that you have atleast WinXP SP2, Windows Media Player 11+ and the latest Media Converter.

Turn the player ON before you connect to the computer.

It should work.

Let me know if you still have a problem.
