Sansa Fuze not Doing Anything

I got my Sansa June of last year. It was working fine when I stopped using it about a month or two ago. However, after a few weeks of complete non-use, I tried to turn it back on and use it. However, it did not.  I figured that this was just cause of no battery. However, when I connected it to the computer, I could not charge it. This had happened a few times before; however, after resetting it, it woul always come back to life. However, this time, no matter what I did, it would not turn on.

Eventually, though, I tried a fix I found on the forums while searching. It worked!  I charged it in the computer, and added some new music. When I unplugged it and tried to play the new music, however, it froze, and started skipping songs quickly (the song title kept changing). Some of the text on screen were on different levels (making it jumbled). It finally stayed on a single song, but the song’s title scrolled very quickly.

So I decided to turn off the player.

Then I was back at square one–unable to turn on the player.

However, this time a simple reset was able to turn it on. The “sansa” title appeared (the one before the flower), but it stayed like that.  Eventually, the black background behind it began to light up, turning limeish balck. The screen split into two bars of colour, and it finally turned of after 8-9 seconds of holding up the power button.

So now I’m stuck with the initial problem–can’t get it to turn on or charge.

Some more info:

I’m pretty clumsy, and drop my electronics sometimes. When I shake the Sansa, I can hear a small rattling noise, like something is loose. However, that is only if I specifically shake it and expect to hear that sound (I “look” for it).

Thanks for reading this incredibly long problem. Any help would be appreciated!

I think

NoooooooOOOooo:cry:! So there’s nothing I can do? Is it possible to take it apart and try and reallign some things?

I once found instructions on how to take these things apart on anythingbutipod .com. However, I must warn you: they are very difficult to understand. Also, once you take these things apart, thare are EXTREMELY difficult to put back together. Trust me, I found this out the hard way.

As your your problem, try placing the switch in hold. Then connect it to your computer while holding down the << button. This will cause your player to emulate a USB flash drive. Then, manually download the latest firmware, unzip it directly on your device. Unplug and see what happens. Hopefully, your player should say something about updating firmware, restart, and work just as it should. If that doesn’t help, try reformatting it. There might some wierd file causing problems. If so, a reformat will help.
