SANSA E280 NEW COMPUTER

I recently got a new computer and downloaded Sansa updater and media converter. now when I plug in my e280 I get an error message "Exception Processing Message c0000013 parameters75b6b7c 75b6b7c 75b6b7c .   If the computer does see the player there is no music folder to drag music to.   How do I fix this?

What USB mode are you using? MSC is easiest.

The Updater is useless, and the Media Converter is pretty much that way too.

It’s possible that your new computer is not communicating with the e280 in the same USB mode.  Another possibility is that you have a v1 device, and the Music folder is hidden in the folder view.

To commmunicate in MTP Mode , Windows Media Player 10 or later is required.  In this mode, the player is seen as a Portable Device rather than a memory device (a flash drive).

If, under Settings, USB Mode is set to Auto Detect, the Sansa may be automatically be seen in the alternate mode.

For the “hidden” music folder, change your folder view to “show hidden files” on the PC.

Go to Windows Explorer via “computer” or “my computer”, and have look for your e280.  Does it look different?  You can change to the alternate USB mode on the Sansa, then plug in again, or if it isn’t communicating, manually select the desired mode under Settings > USB Mode, and plug in.

Using the Device Manager, you can uninstall the device via a right-click, unplug, then plug in again.

Hey Bob, I changed to mtb mode and now I can use my player, I can add and delete music… But I am still getting error messages and the 280 says system shutdown everytime I unplug it from the computer.

On the top of the player, there’s a HOLD switch. If you have this in the locked position (with the orangs section showing), the player will give the shutdown message, and will turn off after the power button it tapped.

Watch the shutdown message.  The only other possibility is a “low battery” issue if the device needs a charge, or possibly, a new battery is needed.

thanks Bob, All fixed now.
