My problem with my Sansa Connect is this. When I plug into the computer, it recognizes that it is there. However, when I go to my computer to open it up to manually transfer music into the player, it freezes up. Anyone else have this problem? Also, has anyone used Rhapsody to transfer music yet? The compatible players, according to rhapsody, do NOT include the connect. Just wondering if anyone has tried it and it worked or didn’t work.

What freezes up - your computer, or your Connect?

Do you have Windows Media Player version 10 or later installed?

See my last post in this thread.
i don’t kno how to find out if i have windows midea player 10 or higher
Almost every Windows application, including WMP, has an “About” item under the “Help” menu that will tell you the version of the application.
I had the same problem and I tried a number of things. My computer wouldn’t recognize my Connect when there was an expansion card in it.
I’m running Vista, so first I installed Service Pack 1 for Vista. Then I installed the MTP Porting Kit at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=a2e73160-e862-4f19-bb26-c0cafe798955&displaylang=en
After doing those two things, I still couldn’t get my computer to recognize the Connect with the expansion card unless I first hit
“Shuffle All” and waited until all the songs loaded. Then I connected it to the computer and there it was. For whatever reason, that is what works for me – my computer can’t find the Connect unless I hit “shuffle all.”
Good luck.
A common fix for this symptom is to turn your Connect completely off (hold down the power button for about 8 seconds, so it shuts down, not just sleeps). Then connect the Connect to USB. Wait patiently for several minutes while it starts up fully (you’ll watch the five balls light up sequentially on the Connect’s screen), and it’ll be recognized. (If you’re lucky.)
I ran into the same thing with mine and it was very frustrating. How I solved it was by disconnecting from the PC and powering down the Connect completely i.e. hold the power button 5 seconds until it completely shut down. Without turning the Connect on and Rhapsody not running on the PC , plug the Connect to the USB cord. The Connect should boot up in 30-40 seconds. Launch Rhapsody and see if it shows up in the left pane.
Hope this helps. Sansa CS was absolutely no help on this subject for me. I accidently figured it out.
