my sansa clip when i turn it on shows the blue ring shows nothing on the screen then turns off, my computer recognizes it but i dont know where to go from here what should i do?
The Sansa Clip doesn’t have a blue ring. Are you thinking of the E200 or Fuze?

Sounds like a screen issue already. Check if reloading the firmware will work. If not, call sanDisk Tech support

Here is a quick view of the ZIF connector for the OLED display. The “blue ring” referred to is employed on the original Sansa Clip version here:
I like the blue light, it’s great in low light to see the control wheel / button. The Clip+ , released later, has no control illumination.
When you connect to the PC, can you navigate to the music files? I would venture that the display connection or the display itself may have died. See if you can get the device to play a file via the play / pause button. If you can get it to play, and the display is dark, it might just be a display issue.
I’ve performed surgery on the wee Clips, swapping display panels, updating an early type as well (there are different versions of display panels, and from experimentation, they are indeed interchangeable. The ribbon connector locks via the little dark plastic tab.
