My new Sansa Clip would not turn on or charge through the USB connection. I had loaded it with my music until it rejected my next song addition. But I got it to turn on and charge by plugging it in to the USB port BEFORE I turned on the computer. When I turned on the computer, it jumped to life. It also charged and has done well since. I hope this helps somebody else out. I was ready to throw it away.
Great to hear! Sometimes a small thing like this is enough to kick the Clip into action (just like a reboot of a computer).
