Sansa clip won't turn on or wont be recognised by computer

Hi,

I have tried the usual fixes but my clip will not turn on or be recognised when I plug into computer via USB.

Any help appreciated.

Unless you list (in detail) those ‘usual fixes’, no one here will know what to suggest.

Better to give all the information you can off the bat, rather than going back-and-forth playing 20 questions. That just wastes everyone’s time.

Held power button up for 3 minutes

Held volume + while plugging into usb

Held centre button while pluging into usb

Thanks

Anyone??

Is there somewhere I can send to get repaired in the UK?

Is it an original Clip or Clip+?

How long have you had it?

Might it still be under warranty?

Have you tried different USB ports and/or a different computer?

Have you tried an AC-USB charger as opposed to your computer?

The original Clips had a problem with badly soldered battery connections.

Could also be you have a bad cable.

Nobody repairs these things; it would cost more than buying a new one, even in the UK.

Just had the same problem. Nothing worked till i used an AC to USB adapter. Maybe the added juice that you don’t get when just plugged into your PC ‘jumps’ it…i dunno, I am just happy it started. Now I am off to back all that music on to a harddrive.

Not all USB ports are the same. I’ve read that those in the back of some laptops may be more powerful than those in the front, and the back USB ports often are recommended if there is an issue with a USB connection.
