SANSA CLIP doesnt show as recognized when plugged in

My Sansa will not show as recognized when I have it plugged in. When I look in device manager it shows a yellow question mark beside it, iv tried updating firmware but its not working any suggestions? I am running windows XP professional version…Thanks…Josh
